Acting Strange...
About 6 months ago my wife's 2003 Rendezvous started acting strange when it was locked with her key fob. Everything would seem fine but in about 5 minutes the alram would start going off for no reason. When she go back in the car the following things were wrong:
1. None of the electric windows would work.
2. The radio would not work.
3. The AC would blow but not get cold.
4. None of the interior lights would work.
5. The daytime running lights would not come on automatically.
6. The Security warning light on the dash was on.
7. The SES light was on.
I disconected the battery to reset everything and all was fine until she locked the car with the fob then everything was broken again.
Took it to the dealer and they said the only code they could find was something with the fog lights. they cleared the code and until now everything was working. Now we're back to everything being broken again.
This last incident happened on the weekend so I did the battery disconnect fix so I didn't have to hear about it all weekend. By accident my wife started using her backup key/fob and there have been no problems since. Is it possible that all of the trouble is being caused by a bad key/fob?
