Hi im new to the forum so im sorry if this is in the wrong place.Well now that my car is all fixed up, my moms is having problems. Im not real sure what it is but you will just be driving, and all the gauges die real fast and then beep like your almost out of gas. Then they will jump back to where they were and the car doesnt die or anything it just goes dumb for a second or two. The check engine light comes on only when it dies fast. When you start the car the air bag light comes on and stays on thru the whole thing. I took it to autozone to see if they could scan and it they said they couldnt because theres only scans check engine lights. He said to start with the battery and check the grounds, but i have no idea where any of the grounds are at. So does anyone here have any ideas as to what this could be? TIA Calaeb

 

the main ground should be from the negative post on the battery to the body nearby. i had a similar problem with my ford ranger. you might check thebattery terminalsfor corrosion, too. they make an electrical contact cleaner that works quite well. but, you have to take theterminals offto clean them, not just clean the outside of them as there would be corrosion blocking contact between the connections.
