Ignition spark testing
#1
Have you ever wanted to
really check ignition spark?
Checking spark with a normal spark plug does not check the coil ignition spark
system effectively.
Coils can fail internally under higher stress and loads.
It is better to make a test plug and widen the plug gap to 1/4 to 3/8".
Put a good ground on the threads and use it on each cylinder testing for jump on wires also. This increases
stress loads on the coil and wires and provides confidence in performance.
