Hi all last week I posted I had a 1995 Lesabre. My car is really a 1998 Buick Lesabre Custom, .The problem is the same. 3.8 motor now has 110,000 miles Parked it last year because of noise. At 50,000 miles my Lesabre 3.8 motor sounded like a rod knock , only at idle race motor up no knocking noise, drive vehicle no knocking noise ,stop at a red light starts knocking. Take the 1 superteen belt off .No knocking noise at idle , race motor no knocking noise .Dealer replaced water pump, ac compressor,idle tensionor& power steering pump.Ive been all under motor I think the harmonic balancer.Is this possible.Or am I wrong .How do I remove the harmonic balancer .The horizontal motor the right front frame member is like 4 inches from the harmonic balancer.What special puller do I need.Thanks all hope all is well and happy .
