Default ABS problems

Just joined this BBS to see if I can get help for my elderly father who has a 2001 or 2002 Buick Century with ABS problems. He has an intermittent growling in the system, happens most at in-town speeds. He's had it in to the local dealership several times and they cannot diagnose the problem. Anyone out there experienced the same and been able to figure out what's wrong?

Thanks--JPF

Hi ... had the same problem with my 2002 Impala... the problem was one of the ABS wheel sensors had a loose wire... problem can also be from a frayed wire... hard to diagnose because the problem is intermittant... my mechanic could not diagnose the problem when the car was in teh shop and he actually had to drive the car with a helper reading the scan codes until the growling started before he could diagnose the issue and which wheel sensor it was.... had the wheel sensor replaced and no problem since
