Default new here also

Im new here also.. I just joined to ask about audio stuff.
I also just got a 2000 Century. It has the Concert Sound III with 8 speakers. It has the tweeters that look like 2". It has 5.25 in the doors. If yours has the 6 speaker system it will have only a pair of 6"x9" in rear. If its the Concert Sound III it also has some fairly hefty 4" built in right next to the 6x9s.
The CS3 also has a nice sized amp build in under the third brake light. Maybe we can help each other out. I installed some Cerwin Vega 4" I got a while back....4ohm just like the factory ones...but they had little sound. The factory 4" in back had great mid and the vegas had everything, but very little of it. I dont know why...their both 4ohm.
I installed pioneer 6" 3 way in front doors,, I had to re-drill holes but they fit. I cant remember, but they were both the same ohms,, Id have to look to be sure. I think 6ohms... The new sounded bettter, but just wasnt what I was hopeing. A little better high, but a little lower mid,,, about the same low.
I work at a body shop and replace factory 6x9 with factory 6x9 out of a 2002 Grand Marqis. They were NICE.. factory but way better considering the old were blown.
I would like to see about a new HU but want to keep controls on wheel. I looked into a sound processor,, it lets u keep your factory HU, but with all the bells and whistles.
Please message me if you have any good news on any audio install..

I lied front speakers are a low 2ohms and I installed 6" 4ohms. That is what hurt my sound. All the speakers I installed were free from wrecked car/trucks so I really cant complain.
I cant beleave the rear 6x9s are a wopping 10ohms,,,,10. basicly no sound from those,,,well just bass. They really do have great sound,, the ones from the Marquis, but I want more.

Yes to the size 5.25 or 5 1/4 however it's labeled on the box. I ended up with Xplod cause I was not willing to settle for no speakers when I purchased it Concert II with 5 of 6 blown. My situation is custom mounting the new tweeters in the factory spot.

Crutchfield has the steer controls for most after market radios.
